Know which vessel to call today, without opening four tabs

The Today board lists the port calls at your ports, each vessel's shipowner and its next action, sorted by ETA. It replaces a tracking tab, a registry tab, a spreadsheet and memory.

Example with fictional data. Board as of 13:30, São Paulo, GMT-3.

Where the data comes from

AIS positions

Vessels come from AIS feeds. Each row shows when its data was last seen.

Shipowner and contacts

Ownership and contacts come from a ship registry. When a name only looks alike, the board says “possible match”.

Stored in PortPulse

Everything is stored in PortPulse and refreshed in the background. Nothing on the board asks a provider for data when you click.

A port agency's morning is spread over four places

PortPulse puts the four on one board sorted by ETA.

A tracking tab
It shows where the vessel is. It does not say whose it is or what to do.
A registry tab
It gives the shipowner, but only if you remember to look, vessel by vessel.
A spreadsheet
It keeps who is a client and who is not, and depends on someone updating it.
Memory
It decides which vessel matters. A client's vessel can arrive with no nomination and nobody notices until it is alongside.

One board, three ways to use it

People who work port calls do three things: keep a client's vessel, pitch the one that is not yet a client, and know when something changes. Today organizes all three.

See it in action

Each clip follows one job your team does every day, start to finish.

Know when something changes

A watch for client ships at Santos: pick the changes that matter, and PortPulse reports them in the app.

Recorded in PortPulse with real vessel positions and public registry data. The agency, its users and the client and prospect labels belong to a demo workspace. The shipowners, companies and contacts shown have no relationship with PortPulse.

What the video shows
  1. “Notifications” lists what a watch found: changes come to you instead of you re-checking.
  2. Eight kinds of change, from “ETA change” to “Sanction status change”.
  3. A rule for an “ETA change” at the ports you work in.
  4. Sanctions screening is added as a second rule.
  5. The scope is set to “Client” ships, with alerts in the app.
  6. “Create watch” saves it, with its name, rules, scope and delivery.
  7. The point: stop re-checking the same ships.

Nominated before the vessel arrives

Every client vessel heading to your port appears with its shipowner already attached and one action: Remind. You send the reminder, record the nomination, and the row leaves the board for History.

See how Today works
The board
Port calls at your ports, sorted by ETA, with the status of each.
The action
Remind opens the message, ready to go. PortPulse does not send it: you copy it or open it in your mail app, then mark it as sent.
The end
Marking it as sent moves the row to History, with an Undo.

A concrete reason to call today

When the vessel belongs to a company you do not serve yet, the row says Pitch or Qualify, with the company and the registry contacts already filled in. In Intelligence, you see who moves the most vessels through your ports.

The company
Shipowner and contacts come from the ship registry, with the date of the data.
The pitch
Pitch opens the message to the contact you choose. Sending is yours.
The ranking
Intelligence ranks shipowners by calls, by port and period. Add as prospect brings the shipowner onto the board.
Boarding agent

On the quay, with one hand

On a phone, the board becomes cards: one per port call, with the main action on a large button. Open the shipowner to see the contacts, or mark the reminder as sent.

Know when something changes

A watch follows vessels, ports or shipowners and tells you in the app and, if you choose, by email, right away or in a daily digest. There are eight kinds of change.

  • Scheduled arrival
  • Arrived at port
  • ETA change
  • Destination change
  • Vessel identity change
  • AIS nav status change
  • Area entry/exit
  • Sanction status change

Sanctions screening is a screening result, not a legal finding.

How it starts

  1. Add a port

Pick a port you work in. PortPulse draws default zones around it.

  2. Vessels appear as they are seen

Nothing to do here. Vessels heading to your ports show up as the AIS feeds report them.

  3. Add or qualify shipowners

Add the companies you work with, or qualify the first one PortPulse finds on the board.

Questions that usually come first

Does PortPulse send the emails for me?

No. It prepares the message from your template with the details filled in. You copy it or open it in your mail app, then mark it as sent.

Is the data real-time?

No. Each row shows when its data was last seen, and the board re-reads the PortPulse database every 60 seconds.

What if the shipowner shown is wrong?

When a name only looks alike, PortPulse shows “possible match” instead of asserting. In Qualify, you choose which company to link to the vessel.

Which languages does it support?

The interface is in Brazilian Portuguese, English and Spanish.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is not set yet. The pricing page says what is decided so far, which is nothing.

Start with your first port

Set up the agency, add a port and watch the board fill in. Pricing is not set yet.
